Just wondering what everyone's favourite film story is that they've had while making films?
Mine for instance comes when we were shooting the opening scene of my new film - it was 10pm and fucking cold. It was the first time that I had ever used artificial lighting, and in my head I had something really cinematic that I wanted to commit to tape.
The scene required one character to bite another character's ear off, so my lead had fake blood covering half his face, his clothes caked in mud, in the freezing cold, and it being pitch black.
I remember just looking at my sound man and asking "Ready?" and him looking at me, holding the boom with both of his hands inside his jacket and him saying "Yes" and a cloud of fog coming from his mouth. I looked around at the lights, the cold, the mud, the camera, the mike, the fake blood and my actors and thought to myself "This is PROPER film-making".
It nearly killed me that night, but by god, it's the closest that I've ever come to heaven!
What are the experiences of anyone else here?

Ah, I see - none of you have actually made any films, and just pretend to, and hence have no anecdotes.

Haha

Okay then, not really a great anecdote but on my most recent film I pratically wrecked my mums BMW.
We put a massive dent in the bonnet from smacking this guys head of it about twelve times.
Then we bust the child locks by ripping the handle off.
And after that the entire plastic part of one of the car doors broke from us slamming it too hard.
I kind of shot myself in the foot though because its the car thst I'm supposed to be driving when I get my license.

Meeting the stunt ewok, Kieran Shah (can't remember how to spell his name) on the set of 'The Hard Case' by Guy Ritchie. [sorry sir, did you drop something?]
Or meeting Declan Mulholland (again, can't spell) on the set of the International Film School production affectionately known as 'The Dog's Breakfast' - can't remember the real title - Pig's Family maybe? Anyway, he was a right tosser, but kinda cool cos he kept ripping the piss out of these idiotic students (I was a professional sound recordist, naturally). Maybe he's so bitter cos they matted Jabba over him in Star Wars.
Not particularly anecdotal perhaps, but there's only so many things that can go wrong before it all gets a bit dull. Shit happens, and it happens alot on film sets.
